R43D CAPTURE / SUPPORT
A little help for your next capture.
Start small. Move carefully. Keep control of your recordings. Find the essentials for R43D Capture on iPhone.
Getting started
R43D Capture records a space and your camera’s movement on a supported iPhone. It saves sessions locally for later export and processing; it does not reconstruct a house on the phone.
- Open the app, follow the introduction and allow Camera access.
- For a first capture, plan a 30–60 second walk: one room, through a doorway, into a second area, then back near your starting point.
- Hold the phone around chest height, move slowly and show walls, corners and doorways. Keep a clear path and watch your surroundings.
Camera and motion permissions
Camera access is required. If it is denied, choose Open camera settings in the app, or find R43D Capture in iPhone Settings and enable Camera. Restrictions on a managed device may require an administrator’s help.
Motion access adds optional movement details. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness if you want to change it. Camera capture still works when optional motion access is off. Depth recording depends on your iPhone hardware.
The app does not need microphone, GPS location, contacts or photo-library permission.
Start and finish a capture
Tap Start capture, follow the on-screen guidance and keep the app in the foreground while recording. Move steadily rather than turning the phone quickly.
When you are done, hold Finish until saving begins. With VoiceOver, activate Finish capture and confirm Finish and save. Wait for Capture saved before leaving the app. Saving can take a little time.
Your saved Sessions
Open Sessions to find recordings on this iPhone. Select one to see its status and details, export it or delete it. View session on the saved screen opens the recording you just made.
An incomplete session is retained for review but cannot be resumed or exported as a verified complete capture. Saved sessions are not automatically sent to R43D.
Export a session
- Open Sessions and select a completed capture.
- Tap Export capture and wait while the app checks and prepares the file.
- Choose AirDrop, Save to Files or another destination in the iOS share sheet.
- Check that the copy arrived before deleting the original.
Cancelling the share sheet leaves the saved session intact. If export fails, check free storage and try again. If AirDrop is unavailable, save to Files and transfer the file using a destination you trust.
Delete a session
Open the session, tap Delete capture, then confirm Delete permanently. Choose Keep capture to cancel. Deletion is permanent for that local session and its in-app export copies.
Copies you have already shared are separate. Delete them from Files, the receiving device or the service where you saved them if you no longer need them.
Storage and temperature
Video and spatial recordings need free space, and preparing an export needs room for another copy. Check Settings → General → iPhone Storage before a longer capture. Begin with a short session rather than recording an entire property at once.
If the app warns about storage, memory or temperature, finish the capture when safe. Let a warm phone cool before continuing. Transfer and verify completed sessions before removing local copies to free space.
Tracking-quality guidance
Good: continue a slow, steady walk. Limited: slow down and point toward well-lit surfaces with visible detail. Blank walls, darkness, reflections and fast turns can make tracking harder.
Lost or interrupted: pause and look around carefully while following the app’s guidance. Do not assume tracking has recovered until the app indicates it. Avoid pushing on through an extended tracking problem.
When something goes wrong
If saving is still in progress, keep the app open and wait for the result. After an interruption, restart or failed save, check Sessions before attempting a new capture. Partial recordings may be retained there as incomplete.
Do not delete the only copy while troubleshooting. If a session fails an integrity check, the app will not present it as a verified export. Keep it, note the message, and contact us. After resolving storage, temperature or permission issues, try a shorter new capture.
